NETPark-based space communications firm aXenic has secured a £500,000 investment to support its next phase of growth. The funding comes from NPIF II – Maven Equity Finance and the Finance Durham Fund, both managed by Maven Capital Partners.
aXenic designs and manufactures advanced optical modulators that enable high-speed optical communication in space. Its technology is used in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellations and aerospace applications, with customers including major European satellite and aerospace manufacturers, international space agencies, and emerging players in the global satellite communications market.
This latest funding round highlights the strength of NETPark’s innovation ecosystem and the strategic importance of County Durham in the UK’s space and satellite communications sector.
