ESA Commercialisation Gateway

Ideas submission is now open for the European Space Agency - ESA Strategic Initiative in support of In-Space Servicing, Assembly and Manufacturing (ISAM): investigation of future use cases. 

ESA is inviting Europe’s industry, research organisations, and academia to propose innovative mission, service and infrastructure concepts towards selected ISAM use cases. As part of ESA's Strategic Initiative in support of ISAM, participants are challenged to develop innovative concepts addressing two strategic opportunities for Europe's future in space: establish a multi-users orbital refilling network and extending the lifetime of high-value assets. 

Selected teams will take part in a 5-day Innovation Sprint at ESA ESTEC, on 23–27 November 2026, where they will work alongside ESA experts, mentors and key stakeholders to refine their concepts and develop a roadmap for future implementation. 

Winning team(s) will be invited to apply for a Cooperative Agreement with ESA, with funding of up to € 200 000 to further develop their concept. 

The call is open to industry, SMEs, startups, research centres and academia from ESA Member States and Associate Member States, and application deadline is 14 September 2026, 12:00 CEST.
