Celebrating Women in Tech & Science at ESTRELLAS

Members of the Space North East England community were among the delegation to attend ESTRELLAS: Women in Tech & Sciences, an inspiring event hosted by Durham University that celebrated the achievements, experiences and contributions of women across STEM.

Bringing together students, early career researchers and established professionals, ESTRELLAS created a welcoming space to share stories, champion diverse career journeys and inspire the next generation of innovators. The programme highlighted the importance of representation, collaboration and ensuring that talent from all backgrounds has the opportunity to thrive.

It was fantastic to see so many inspiring speakers, including astronaut Dr Meganne Christian, alongside women from across academia, industry and the wider space community who shared their experiences and insights.

As a regional space cluster, we're proud to support and celebrate initiatives like ESTRELLAS that help strengthen connections across our community and encourage more people to pursue careers in science, technology and space.

Congratulations to everyone involved in organising such a successful event—we're already looking forward to seeing ESTRELLAS continue to grow.
