Celebrating 10 Years of Innovation at NETPark, aXenic Marks a Milestone

On Thursday 27th November, NETPark-based company aXenic

celebrated its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of pioneering work in advanced optical communications for the global space sector.

Founded in 2015, aXenic has become a world leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance optical modulators, critical components for next-generation satellite and aerospace communication systems. These technologies enable ultra-fast, secure data transmission in space, supporting applications from Low Earth Orbit (LEO) constellations to defence and telecom platforms.

Over the past decade, aXenic has grown from a regional start-up into an internationally recognised innovator, working with major satellite manufacturers and global partners. Its success reflects the strength of the North East’s photonics and advanced manufacturing ecosystem and the role of NETPark as a hub for high-value technology businesses.
