About the event

Our monthly chance for the North East space community and also those from outside the region to find out the latest news, hear interesting experiences from our speakers and network with each other.

Local Spotlight: Dr Stephanie Yardley – Assistant Professor – Northumbria University.

Space scientist Dr Stephanie Yardley spoke with Sky news last month about the magnificent Aurora Borealis. Steph will join us to give an insight into how and why the spectacular display was visible to the naked eye.

Steph is also leading a team of scientists at Northumbria University looking into the origins of “slow” solar wind, using data collected during the Solar Orbiter spacecraft’s first close journey to the sun.

Come and join us and hear about the fascinating work which is being carried out by Steph and her team.

Vito Matteo Di Pietro – Business Development Manager/Esa Technology Broker - TWI

Vito will discuss how TWI recently signed an agreement with the European Space Agency – ESA to work as the ESA Technology Broker in the UK which started in May.

The contract, part of ESA’s ScaleUp programme, underscores TWI’s commitment to driving innovation and fostering collaboration both within the space industry and between space and non-space sectors.

Please register if you would like to join us.
